About me

My treatment preferences for the past 35 years has been solution-focused therapy, Rogerian person-centered therapy and encouraging a narrative approach through active listening.. Over the years, using these therapeutic practices has enabled me to be more focused on modeling respect for fundamental dignity of every client through a non-judgmental presence. Regardless of what brought the client(s) in for treatment. My intention is provide clients the space to educate and guide me through their perception of their personal experiences . I've been fortunate to garner much success using this approach, at times despite the cultural, racial, gender, religious, or other real and perceived differences.

While serving as an Army Chaplain, I spent great deal of time throughout my career doing MFT and Couples counseling. Some of the challenging couples counseling was the home-away from home counseling during periods of military deployments, and post deployment reintegration. It was also necessary to collaborate with other professionals during these challenging times with marriages and families being stretched by multiple issues after deployments, such as PTSD, mTBI, and substance abuse.
