Dawn Brown

Professional Experience

Dawn Brown is a Board Certified Nationally Certified Counselor who has been a counselor for 20 years. Her counseling work includes private practice (both face to face and online), psychiatric treatment programs to include inpatient, outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization programs. She is particularly interested in researching, writing, and working with depression, anxiety and trauma patients. During her work as a counselor with the military, she provided short-term, solution-focused counseling to US Service Members. Dawn has completed the Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy certification and the Telemental Health Counseling, and Supervision Certification.

Dawn is excited to continue her career as an advocate for access to mental health services, particularly those needing services that may not otherwise access them through her involvement with Betterhelp.com. Dawn is looking forward to contributing to publications related to depression, anxiety, military culture, trauma and relationship issues.

Education

Dawn Brown earned her bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology as well as her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling, graduating with honors. Dawn is currently a Doctoral student in Counseling Education and Supervision and has been licensed since 2002 as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Dawn actively engages in educational opportunities and certifications with her most recent accomplishment of achieving the Telemental Health Counseling and Supervision certification. Dawn is also a Board Certified Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) offered through the National Board for Certified Counselors.
