About Me

My expertise is in assisting clients adjust and navigate the dynamics of the family. Social and family issues can contribute to stress and anxiety which can be exhausting. As life altering events and everyday stressors affect us all, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused therapy and techniques have found to be useful and practical.
Additionally, my training as an interest-based mediator, is congruent with my motivational, and client-centered approach to living and healing. The goals of my practice include increasing self-awareness, improving the client’s ability to use self-direction to make desired changes, increasing clarity, improving self-esteem, and boosting the client’s self-reliance. Therefore, understanding how each member of a family is unique, helps to renegotiate, and maneuver life’s challenges. Likewise, it is important to understand that events in life occur with or without warning but understanding the importance of resilience improves one’s ability to thrive. My husband and I came to Wendy not long after our son became a toddler. We had a ton of gaps in our relationship (lack of communication, lack of shared vision, some resentment and scorekeeping - not to mention lack of sleep from those newborn months!) Wendy helped us to work through all these matters and break down the barriers that parenthood had placed in our relationship, and create a shared culture that will benefit not just us but our son as well. I highly recommend Wendy to anyone who is looking to reunite with their loved one and re-evaluate all the things that brought you together in the first place. We are ending our counseling relationship with Wendy on a very positive note! Without her, we wouldn't have been able to lay the solid groundwork and create a toolbox of techniques to keep connection and romance alive in our marriage. We are so glad to have worked with her! Counseling with Wendy changed us and our family for the better.

My husband and I are grateful for our sessions with Wendy. She is thoughtful, a great listener, and mediator. We both feel heard and supported. She is working with us to better our relationship and make our family unit stronger. It is also helpful to have the sessions online as we don’t have an extremely open schedule.
