About me

Greetings!

My name is Wendy Henner and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Arizona and Oregon, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University, and my Master of Arts degree, specializing in Applied Behavioral Science and Systems Counseling, from Bastyr University.

For the past 20 years, I have been working with individuals and couples who present with a variety of personal struggles such as self-love deficiency, depression/anxiety, grief and loss, addiction and attachment trauma which all can result in adult relationship challenges.

I think we can all agree that creating and maintaining a healthy, sustainable, unconditionally loving relationship can be very challenging at times. I've gained a great deal of knowledge about how to maintain a healthy relationship through my involvement in a three-year project under the direction of John Gottman at his relationship lab in Seattle, Washington from 1998-2001. John Gottman has a 99% predictor rate if marriages will succeed or fail.
I also studied at the International School of Temple Arts (ISTA) with Baba Dez Nichols, who is an International leader in the art of Tantra and Sacred Sexuality. I received my Level 1 Dakini training in 2009, and I am in the process of starting my Level 2 training to deepen my understanding of the importance of practicing Tantra and Sacred Sexuality in relationships.

I believe we all have the answers we need within us, that we are spiritual beings having a human experience and our purpose here on Earth is to evolve and thrive. Challenges allow us to grow and learning to deeply surrender and just be with uncomfortable emotions, helps us to evolve into a deeper awareness and higher consciousness. We can dip our toes in the water, so to speak, and choose to ignore challenges when they are present, or jump off the metaphorical high dive and face our challenges head-on, taking the fast track towards evolution at lightning speed.

Looking within and reaching out to face our struggles when we feel stuck, is a courageous step forward. Finding that right person with whom you can trust will listen with an open heart, and who can help access your inner guru is at times exactly what we need to move forward. It would be my honor and privilege to be that person for you, to hold space for you and with you, and help you move at whatever pace you are ready and willing to go.

Thank you for having the courage in taking that first step and I look forward to working with you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Wendy Henner. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.

I appreciate Wendy's ability to listen and figure out where we are on our issues and meet us there. I appreciate the direction she gives us. I feel in our first two sessions we have established a good foundation for moving forward.

Wendy is an amazing counselor. She is truly selfless, giving all she has over to our problems - which are sometimes petty - no matter what. She makes us feel important, and as though our problems matter to her. Wendy cares about us and about the success of our relationship. She is always available when we need her. Wendy is an amazing teacher. She has taught me to think in certain ways and understand certain things that have vastly improved my own life in addition to our relationship. Wendy is a true professional and expert, but she's so relatable and kind. She uses a variety of techniques to teach us even when we don't have an appointment; she'll send us articles, websites, videos, or audio clips, and worksheets to complete. Wendy enriches our lives. We feel so fortunate to have been connected with her.

Thanks Wendy for helping us work through counseling with a positive outlook and some fresh ideas to improve our communication.

Wendy is a compassionate listener and a smart and strong advisor. She is fair and is light-hearted when needed yet strong when needed. We have only spoken three times, but I am already so grateful for her counseling.

Work with me!
