Welcome! My name is Valery Krieg, but most of my clients call me Val. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) , and I have over 6 years of direct experience providing individual, couples, and family counseling, as well as over a decade of experience in the social work field. I am licensed in Colorado, and I enjoy working with clients in our urban, rural, and mountain communities. In my practice, I work with couples with a wide range of concerns, including relationship and family issues, co-parenting, grief and loss, infidelity, anger management and communication, household management and shared responsibilities, and thriving as a couple when one or more members is living with mental illness.
My counseling style is warm and welcoming. I believe in creating a safe space where you can express your thoughts without judgement or shame. In my practice, you will be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. My counseling approach is eclectic, and I will tailor our dialog to meet your needs. My approach combines techniques from narrative therapy, the Gottman Method, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness and wellness practices. Together, we will create a treatment plan that works for you as a couple and addresses your goals and concerns.
Thank you for taking the first steps toward change. It can be a challenging process, but I am here to help. I look forward to working with you!

Very pleased with Valery. She has been helping and we are learning and growing so much.
Val has already been someone that has become VERY important to me, and I have only just begun. I appreciate her many styles of therapy and ways to approach things. I also love how positive she makes everything but makes sure to acknowledge real life things HOW they should be acknowledged if it cannot be made positive in that moment. I have already recommended ReGain to many people and I do hope they take the leap of faith and see Val or someone as awesome! :)
I really looked forward to each meeting with Valery. I know she has a lot of folks to deal with, but I always appreciated her genuine concern and complete attention during our sessions. Thank you, Valery, for helping me get to a brighter place.
Valerie is kind, patient and gentle while she guides her sessions. I appreciate her feedback and ability to reflect what she hears during our sessions.
Valery does a very good job of listening to my needs and problems. She always responds effectively and in a short time frame with advice and more questions to clarify my thoughts. She manages to find articles, worksheets, and tips for me to utilize in my day to day life so that I can work to be a better me.
She listens to my concerns provides great feedback and new ways to work through some issues. Not upset when I have to reschedule.
