I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California, who is also a certified Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. I have over 11 years of experience working in the mental health field and I have served a diverse population with extensive experience with grief/trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), relationship issues, parent coaching, family relational issues, addiction issues, and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD). My experience includes several modes of therapy which include, but aren't limited to the following: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Throughout my career I have consistently provided individual, couples, family and group therapy. I believe an important part of my role as a clinician is to continue educating myself in order to ensure utilizing the most effective interventions and resources for my clients. Additionally, I believe it is important that I remain active in the movement of diminishing the stigma of mental health issues and increasing awareness, which is also linked to my work with suicide prevention.
I am very passionate about the work that I do and the people I serve. I approach each person as a unique individual and not a disorder or circumstance. I believe in encouragement, empowerment, validation, increasing self-awareness and coming from a strength based perspective. While I believe in empathy, patience and individuality I do believe I have mastered the art of finding a balance between these and challenging discouraging hurdles!
Taking the first step to taking care of yourself is the most difficult step of all and I am honored to be a part of your process! I look forward to meeting you.
- Trauma and abuse
I also have experience in Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Intimacy-related issues, Eating disorders, Sleeping disorders, Parenting issues, Anger management, Self esteem, Career difficulties, Bipolar disorder

Valeh, what can I say...you are amazing. My husband and I started the session with our boxing gloves on ready to fight each other. You really made a huge difference because within a few sessions we are back to our loving relationship, more intimate than ever and we can’t believe it took us so long to get therapy.
We HIGHLY recommend Valeh, how she got my husband to open up is a mystery. She is not only a great listener but provided so much insight into why we weren't communicating and how we can work on it.
She’s not only a great therapist but a great human being. What I love about her especially is that she comes from a real place - we are very happy to find her!
Love Valeh! She gets 100 points!
Valeh is extremely personable and professional. She approaches complex situations in a relaxed and comforting way while making each session enjoyable. We appreciate her firm, yet kind approach and look forward to her guidance each week. We recognize we are struggling, but feel supported in our efforts to grow our marital foundation and are confident that Valeh will help us through this period successfully.
