About me
I have 5 years of experience in the mental health counseling field. I use an approach that integrates Choice Theory (understanding that our choices lead to consequences, and everything we do/don't do is still a choice) along with evidence-based Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I strongly believe that the relationship between a client and counselor is the backbone of any counseling relationship.
I have experience and training in online and face-to-face environments and believe in the “meet them where they are” strengths-based approach to counseling. With experience providing counseling services to individuals, juveniles, and groups, I have worked with clients experiencing active suicidality and suicidal ideation, as well as with clients with active hallucinations and delusions. I have experience with clients from many cultures, races, and ethnicities. These include but are not limited to members of the BIPOC community, LGBTQIA+ communities, and clients with varied religious and legal backgrounds.
I have extensive experience working with sexual abusers, including those with active psychopathy and those with developmental delays. I hold sexual abuser-specific licensure. Additionally, I have completed level one Gottman Method couples counseling and enjoy working with partners looking to expand their relationships into ones of mutual respect and joy.
Working with clients to help them find the answers to their questions is a joy. Watching change unfold and people find their path through pain, fear, and hopelessness is an ongoing benefit of working in the counseling field.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Tina Smith. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
Tina is wonderful, she does a great job of listening and asking thoughtful questions to help me understand my feelings better.
We love Tina! She is great at recognizing unhealthy communication styles and getting to the point. She offers skills and resources and she asks important questions to help each person understand each other better. Super thankful for her and Regain
Tina is very experienced and knowledgeable in her field. Her soft tender approach helped me and my partner truly open up to her and each other so we could effectively work through things before they become bigger problems in our relationship. My partner and I feel so excited now to use the new tools we have learnt to enhance our future together.
So far she has made a positive impact for us both, we are still just starting and I’m sure have far to go but it’s a positive start.
Tina, is amazing. She has such great insight, she is professionally, savvy and hardworking. She is patient and helps develop skills needed for introspection. Very glad to have worked with her.
