Welcome!
I am a Masters level licensed Clinical Social Worker, and have been in the helping field for over 35 years. Treatment approaches that can be helpful include Mindfulness, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, and much more.

For Individuals:

I enjoy listening and passing along concepts and ideas from helpful approaches; a bit like checking out library books that sound interesting to you! In addition to listening to you and how you feel, I will present resources including web links, videos to watch, and more. Please take time to utilize the resources and let me know what seems to work best for you! Challenge Yourself! We can review the progress, modify and adapt things as you see fit because You are the important person here.

For Couples:

Mindfulness Communications can help couples to change perspective to a collectivistic rather than an individualistic viewpoint. A bit like two back yards that are touching and now there is no "fence" between them.
No more need to be "defensive." This shift in perspective can be very helpful and lead to improved communicating and repairing relationships.

Mindfulness helps build a team concept. Problems can be thought of as something Between two people that can be worked on, Together.
It can involve:

1. Listening. Noticing and letting go of the comparisons that make us feel defensive or judgmental and then hurt/angry.

2. Curiosity. Asking your partner what thoughts or feelings they were having. Loop back in and repeat to more fully understand where the other person is coming from. Ask what other thoughts/feelings they had for that situation. This helps both people feel heard, respected, and listened to. This also helps build trust.

3. Empathy. This is the skill of being able to see things through the other person's perspective. Listening and Asking the other person can greatly enhance empathy.

4. Shared Problem Solving. This step often becomes fairly easy and can even be fun. To Appreciate the shared thoughts, feelings, and having a shared empathy often makes it easy to feel reconnected and develop solutions, together.

All meetings are 45 minutes. Each meeting may be concluded at that time.
