Welcome! I am a Masters level licensed Clinical Social Worker, and have been in the helping field for over 30 years. I’ve provided clinical services in emergency rooms, inpatient psychiatric units, and outpatient mental health clinics. I've also worked in both inpatient (detox/rehab) and outpatient D&A programs. Treatment approaches include Mindfulness, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Smart Recovery, Solution-Focused, Family Therapy, Hypnosis Trauma Therapy, CBT, DBT, and more.
I especially enjoy helping people identify and process their "core values" that can guide them in their choices and help with self-esteem. Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) from Dr. Steven Hayes can help a person to utilize their commitment to their core values. The person's own values can then guide then in taking steps to help themself and feel better. Focusing and processing values and feelings and taking steps takes time and effort but it's worth it for the results.
I also enjoy working with couples and helping with communications, intimacy, and repairing relationships.
My current practice hours are Monday through Friday, including some evening hours. I'm pretty flexible, depending on your schedule. I do receive the messages as a way to communicate and schedule live appointments. I'll check the messages during the week and to some extent after hours including weekends. You can schedule a live session with me ahead of time. All the formats are fine to utilize, including the live chat, phone, or video.
