Relationships can be difficult for a variety of reasons. When we begin working together, I like to focus on strengths and goals that you have for yourself as well as each other. Providing a safe and secure environment for you to express your feelings, fears, frustrations, and doubts is one of the most important parts of the counseling sessions we will have with each other. I focus on building the communication skills between you, identifying skills and strategies to help regain the relationship you once had, as well as guide you into building more assertive behaviors with each other and increase your own self esteem so you feel confident within your own self.
I currently hold an MS in Psychology from Misericordia University and a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Scranton. I am presently a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been in the field for 10 years. I presently specialize in trauma informed practices and utilizes CBT, strength based, and motivational interviewing techniques throughout my work. Over the last 10 years, I have gained experience within the field by working in various levels of care and with a number of different populations.
I have training in a range of modalities including art therapy, parenting skills, grief counseling, solution-focused, strength-based model, family therapy, existential therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.
My goal is to build a rapport with you to help you identify your inner strength, a healthy set of boundaries, and guide you into becoming more confident with yourself to challenge yourself to grow and overcome your present struggles.

Tanya is a wonderful marriage counselor. She is really smart, empathetic and comes up with sound, creative advice regardless of the difficult issues we are going through. I recommend her very highly, and without any reservations.
Tanya is really remarkable. She has helped our marriage in a way that I never thought possible. We both feel so comfortable opening up to her and she is so skilled at pushing us past our comfort zones while also being totally supportive and non-judgmental. We feel very lucky to have been paired with her.
My partner and I have been working with Tanya for a couple months. She is a great listener and gives us the space to talk. She also gives us great ideas to develop better communication skills.
Tanya was an amazing counselor for both of us. I have anxiety, and my partner struggles with depression. She was able to help both of us be more present with eachother, be kinder to the other, have less arguments, and stress less about intimacy. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tanya if you are considering couple's counseling. She is wonderful.
Very good and understanding
Ms. Goodman is hands down the best counselor I have ever had. She is polite, patient, and understanding. It's easy to tell she loves what she does; that just makes her even more qualified in my eyes. Things haven't been easy for myself or my husband but having Ms. Goodman here makes things less stressful. I am extremely thankful to her for all the help she has provided thus far and I look forward to our next sessions with her! Very highly recommend!
Tanya is awesome. Very easy to talk to and has helped a great deal in what we were dealing with. It is like talking with a close friend which is great. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
We’ve had just a few weeks of sessions and Tanya Goodman has made me feel more heard than I have in years. She’s really helping me identify some key things that I’ve needed to work things out.
