Marriage or just being in a committed relationship can be a challenge for anyone. Compromising, making changes, giving in, saying "I'm sorry", and having to humble yourself are just some examples of what it means to be in a relationship with someone else. Being in a relationship also means being vulnerable and maybe even getting hurt, but it also means experiencing the greatest joy and happiness ever. Being with your best friend every day shouldn't be a chore, it should be fun, but sometimes after so many years, the spark is gone or maybe he/she betrayed you. Can you work it out? Of course you can! Forgiveness is always possible. If you are having daily challenges/struggles in your marriage/relationship, take the necessary step to see if you can both repair what was once the most important relationship in the world.
Hi! My name is Stephanie Ellis. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am licensed in California and North Carolina. I received my Master of Social Work degree from NC State University in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from NC Central University in 1998. I practiced as a Registered Nurse for almost 10 years in the U.S. Navy. I have special training in addiction counseling, but I began my career in counseling providing in home family therapy with adolescents and their families. While utilizing the Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) model, I worked with the parents many times alone, obtaining experience working with couples, working through relationship and/or marital issues. I have also worked with my spouse through our church as group leaders, helping various couples from time to time with marital issues in counseling over the past 20 years. I have specifically been doing couples counseling in the private practice where I work full time in the state that I reside for the past year.
I truly enjoy helping couples achieve their relationship goals. I have a complete commitment to and focus on the success of the relationship. I never need to take sides with one person over another, so neither person should feel the therapist is taking sides. My goal is for the success and happiness of the relationship and for you to reach your relationship goals. I hope you will let me be the therapist to help you meet your goals.
