I am an independently licensed social worker in both Ohio (LISW) and Kentucky (LCSW) as well as a PhD in social work. I have 25 years of experience working as a therapist, clinical leader and teacher and strive to learn something new each day. I have worked with patients with a variety of challenges including substance abuse, anxiety, depression, mood swings, psychotic episodes, parenting and relationship challenges and attention and focus difficulties. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse and serve first responders who need assistance following traumatic events.
My therapy style is welcoming and inquisitive. I believe in treatment which focuses on finding solutions to troubling symptoms and holistic approaches without judgement or labels. My approach combines a variety of methods including strengths based, person centered, brief solution focused, cognitive-behavioral, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma focused work. I will listen to you to gain information about what you are experiencing and work with you to develop a plan that is focused on minimizing or alleviating troubling symptoms and experiences that you are having which negatively impact your quality of life.
Congratulations in taking the first step in finding someone to guide you on this journey. I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Sharon Simmons. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
Sharon created a safe and judgement-free environment for my spouse and I to discuss our marital goals and conflicts.
Any reluctance or anxiety about starting couples therapy was quickly put to rest by her expertise, demeanor and communication.
Sharon was an ideal therapist to help us open a new chapter in our marriage, put to rest some painful conflicts and help us develop the skills we need to continue strengthening our relationship.
Sharon has been wonderful during my sessions with my partner. She spent time getting to know us individually and as a couple before listening to our wants from our sessions. She provides helpful feedback and variety of "homework" for us to work through after sessions. I would highly recommend her as a therapist!
Friendly, understanding. Asks questions for a better understanding.
Sharon has been an incredible shoulder to lean on during our couples sessions with her and offers many avenues when exploring new ways to solve issues in our relationship. She is incredibly intuitive, understanding, and overall a great example of therapy done right.
Sharon gives amazing guidance while still allowing Me and my partner space to talk things out, Highly recommended!!
Sharon is very kind and professional, good at getting to the heart of an issue and helping come up with strategies for both parties to fix issues
