About Me

Hello and welcome! I am currently practicing as a a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida. Prior to moving down south in 2014, I had been providing counseling services in the state of Rhode Island as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) since 1996. Although my roots lie in New England, I have certainly enjoyed settling into the Floridian lifestyle on the Gulf of Mexico!

I am grateful to have 25 years of experience providing counseling and therapeutic services to both individuals and couples. I have had the opportunity to provide counseling services in my clients homes, private practice, and mental health clinics. I have a great deal of specialized training and experience in helping with depression, stress & anxiety, relationship & familial conflict, and substance abuse. Providing counseling support often includes helping with adjusting to life changes and transitions, including coping with grief and loss as well as helping those who are or have been in traumatic and/or abusive situations. I believe, regardless of the presenting reason for seeking out counseling services, it is important for us to simultaneously be working on building your self-esteem, confidence, and increasing motivation to make healthy changes.

I incorporate aspects of cognitive-behavioral, strengths based, client centered, and goal oriented therapeutic approaches in my counseling relationships. Our work together will begin where you are and focus on moving you towards the place that you want to be. Your strengths and experiences will be drawn upon as tools to learn new approaches in solving problems. I demonstrate a non-judgmental and unbiased work ethic in all of my counseling relationships.

Working as a therapist has always been my greatest passion! My counseling style is founded on compassion, mutual respect, honesty, and goal orientation. I am here to journey alongside of you, helping you navigate and face all that is hindering you from living out your life to your fullest potential; helping you discover who you truly are and how to become more of the person you want to be. Making change happen is a process and requires one to take action. I am committed to providing you with the clarity, understanding, guidance, and unconditional support to take action towards making these positive changes.

Seeking help by engaging in a counseling relationship is a courageous and healthy decision. I am grateful to be in this journey with you and look forward to helping you as we continue on this journey together!

Roberta is extremely patient and kind and has a lot of really nice insight. I think she does a phenomenal job of opening up communicating with both parties and making each heard and respected without pointing fingers. Highly recommend!

My husband and I are so grateful to have found Roberta. In only a few sessions she has been able to give us tools that work for us everyday. We already see in our compassion and communication towards each other.
