About me

I love working with couples! Your relationship with your spouse is your most important relationship. When it's great, it's life giving. When you're struggling, it tends to bleed into every other area of your life. My goal is to help you create the kind of relationship that you both want. A marriage that is life-giving, in which there is a deep sense of connection, great communication, mutual support, trust, respect, and intimacy.

In my experience, there is a "dragger" and a "dragee" when it comes to couples therapy. There's frequently someone who suggests therapy, does the "shopping for a therapist," and is ready to jump right in. Then there is the person who is suspicious, who thinks that the therapist is going to tell (usually) him that he's doing it all wrong. I want to encourage both the "dragger" and the "dragee" to come to therapy with an open mind. Couples therapy is not about who's right and about who's wrong. Couples therapy frequently begins with communicating to one another know what you want and need in the relationship and then co-creating solutions that lead to a new way of relating to one another.

I use the Gottman Method in working with clients. I earned an MS in Counselor Education from Mississippi State University, an MDiv in Theology from Baylor University, and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida. I have served as a staff psychologist and professor at several universities and I'm a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Florida. I also have a Life Coaching practice for those who are looking for assistance, but do not need therapy or who do not want to focus on their therapeutic concerns. When you are ready to begin your journey relational health and a long-term stable and satisfying marriage, contact me and we can work together toward that goal.

If this approach sounds like something you can commit to, then contact me to set up a video session.

I am currently accepting clients Monday through Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM EST.

How can couples stop arguing? By learning to communicate. If you are lacking this skill like most people are we recommend Dr. Arnold to help you learn how to communicate and break the cycle of disagreements. He recommended a book for us and works with us through the book and our communications have improved which in turn has improved the relationship. Couples want someone who will listen impartially to both sides and Dr. Arnold does a great job at this. In a nutshell, if you are looking for someone to listen and provide direction so you can achieve results this is the doc for you.

Wade is awesome. He has helped my wife and I make a lot of progress on our relationship when we were at a very fragile moment in our marriage. We both feel he understands us and feel we are able to communicate better with his help. I would highly recommend him for any couple that needs therapy.

Dr. Arnold is a really good counselor, I find him easy to talk to and understanding. I love how he picks up on things very easily and gets it on both sides of things.
