About Me

Currently, I hold my Clinical Mental Health Counselor’s license and a provisional Clinical Addictions Specialist license, both with the state of North Carolina. I have or over 6 years of experience. I am a certified Life Coach through Liberty University and a certified Yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. I hail from an extensive military background as the daughter of a veteran, wife of an active-duty soldier and now veteran, and as a proud veteran of the United States Army, myself.

Due to having a successful marriage, it is my passion to work with couples. I provide a safe, non-judgmental, transparent space to work through tough relationship concerns facing couples during this time. I embrace culturally diverse relationships. I utilize evidence-based modalities including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Tai Chi, Qi-Gong, and Yoga for the residual somatic symptoms of trauma. Additionally, I am certified to conduct Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), which enables people to heal from the symptoms of emotional distress resulting from disturbing life experiences. I utilize the Prepare and Enrich as requested.

I successfully conduct therapy in the areas of substance abuse, anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, adjustment, mood disorders, parenting problems, relationship conflict, self-esteem, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, and PTSD. A typical therapy session would include the implementation of psychoeducation, role-playing, social skills, conflict resolution management, healthy coping skills, grounding skills, and problem-solving skills, along with the development of self-awareness, critical thinking, or effective communication techniques. I inspire both members of the relationship to take an active role in their growth/healing process.

I look forward to working with you both along your journey to living a purposeful, victorious life together.

We're only two sessions in but I feel confident that Renee knows what she is doing and can help us overcome the obstacles in our marriage. She's thoughtful and our shared experiences help us to relate and feel comfortable with her.

Even after only two sessions with Renee, my partner and I are having all the right conversations to improve our relationship and prepare for marriage. She is honest, open and we love how she gives us concrete goals and strategies.
