About me

My name is Reagan Thompson and I'm excited to be with you on this therapeutic journey. I earned my Master's degree in 2003 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Professional in Nebraska.

I am easy to talk to and am very open and compassionate. I have experience working with individuals, marital/couples, teens, adolescents, LGBTQ+, detainees, and groups. I have had the privilege of working in several types of settings, such as private practice, mental health clinics, schools, hospitals, and detention centers.

I have experience in working with a wide range of mental health issues, such as grief/loss, trauma/PTSD, depression, anxiety, abuse, family conflicts, self-esteem issues, and addictions. Another specialty of mine is in the interpretation of dreams. I believe that many times by analyzing your dreams it helps you gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

I have enjoyed working with couples and helping them resolve issues in their relationship, while also strengthening that bond to one another. I have worked with couples who were struggling to find ways to communicate with each other, were being torn apart by addiction, were needing to rebuild trust that has been broken, or just needed to find ways to reconnect again. It can be a powerful thing to witness the foundations of the relationship being rebuilt and strengthened.

My approach to therapy adheres to Client Centered Therapy (also known as Person Centered, Non-Directive, and Rogerian Therapy), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Trauma Focused, and Motivational Interviewing. I believe the client is the expert and knows more about themselves than anyone else. I will listen to you and assist you in identifying thought patterns that may be holding you back. Together we will work through this and find effective coping skills and techniques to assist you in living your best and most productive life that you deserve.

Reagan has been great for both my husband and myself. She is a voice a reason and is very kind about our differences and difficulties. She gives us great ideas and tools to work on our communication and relationship.

Reagan has been amazingly helpful in just a few short sessions. She makes the environment seem very open, judgement-free, and has made our first time couples counseling experience an overall great experience. We look forward to finding solutions to our problems with Reagan's guidance, and we are so happy we got matched with her as our counselor.
