My education and experience for the past 20 years has shown me that we are individuas, but that we are also a part of an intricate web of interactions, seen and unseen, with many other individuals in our lives, and in our families. When someone close to us interacts with us in a partnership, we have a series of automatic responses and reactions, based on core needs and earlier messages of who we are, that do not always allow us to perceive another way of engaging.
Systems theory has us look at ways in which we have become accustomed to dealing with any issue with another, and what roles we play in a group setting, or in a relationship, that we often did not realize we adopted, often involuntarily. Systems theory and couples counseling looks at what happens on the surface as a repeating pattern, and what is actually occurring underneath, unavailable for you and your partner's view.
My experience, practice, and training have shown me that our ways of thinking, feeling, and reacting to one another, are due to years of self-authored truths and assigned roles in a relationship. Our perceptions, interpretations, and beliefs about who we are and what everything means keep us trapped. Together, we will chip away at how to re-author yourself in a non-judgmental setting.
We work at a pace that is tailored to you and your partner's goals, to discover your best self, and what you both can become. Intimacy and connection can become restored and rejuvenated when it becomes more clear what is deeply needed by each partner, and how listening to one another in a different way can recreate this connection that seems lost or broken.
I look forward to working with you!

Patti is amazing. She adapts week to week to our needs very well. We are both very happy with who we get to talk to every week.
