About me
Thank you for reading my profile.
I am a mother, sister, daughter, wife, stepmother, mother-in-law, grandmother, divorcee, widow, and friend. I come to this work as well experienced in life as in training. I did my undergraduate work in Speech Pathology/Audiology and Psychology and my graduate degree is in Counseling Psychology, with a specialty in Marriage Family Therapy. I have additional training in Cognitive Behavior, Family Systems, Grief and Trauma, Narrative, and Mindfulness therapies. I use an integrative approach to treatment, based on the client’s needs and presenting issues.
I enjoy working with adults in their late twenties, thirties and forties who are coping with difficult life transitions, relational issues at home or work, and people managing significant health problems, aging parents, anxiety, depression and loss. I have strengths in parenting and co-parenting support, screen/tech/phone addictions, Adult ADHD, and managing high-risk behaviors. For me, Couples Counseling is particularly interesting and satisfying work, as I believe challenges for couples and families have never been so great. The complexities of work, the demands of parenting and kids, and the never ending financial pressures on this population are relentless and require tremendous consideration by both partners.
I am privileged and humbled to do psychotherapy with my clients and I deeply respect the courage and vulnerability it requires of them to do good work. I am a warm, friendly, outgoing person and I actively engage with clients in the therapeutic process. I believe it helps (all of us) to have a sense of humor, acknowledge our humanity, and celebrate that even the smallest adjustment can effect change and improve quality of life.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Patricia Hamilton. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
Patricia is a very skilled and knowledgeable counselor. I would recommend her to anyone having relationship issues. My girlfriend and I used regain for a few months and had semi-weekly sessions and worked out a lot of the communication issues we were having. Pat really listens and gives good advice on how to just live your life and has helped us immensely. She's a good resource for other resources too, she's recommended good videos to watch when she's not available that have a lot of good content as well. Cannot highly recommend enough.
I feel very supported by Pat & her input is catalyst for my husband & I.
I absolutely love Patricia :) she is amazing and I look forward to continuing to talk with her!
Patricia is great. We’re a couple trying to get ahead of our differences before formalizing with marriage, and she really helped as thought partner to get us through breakthroughs. We NEEDED her so much. It’s almost crazy to think how someone who knows so little about your background can be so incredibly impactful.
She is very caring and supportive. She has given us many tools to use to adjust to our new normal and helped us think outside the box.
Patricia is not only extremely knowledgeable and experienced in psychology and her approach to couples therapy, but more importantly is a genuinely kind and authentic individual. She meets you exactly where you are, providing her own personal life experience or simply relatable situations to help fuel the discussion. I have spoken highly of Patricia since the beginning, and she continues to amaze me with her approach and ability to offer new ideas to our conversation. Even if we as a couple may not have anything top of mind to discuss with Patricia, we spend that time simply chatting and although it may not seem like "therapy", it sure does warm my soul and leave me - and us as a couple - feeling stronger, happier and healthier.
Patricia has been a great listener and moderator for my husband and I. She take the time to allow each of us to express what we need to, but then helps re frame those feelings in a way that don’t damage the relationship further or hurt our partner. Still lots of work to do! But thank you, Patricia, for the help this far.
