DUE TO THE CURRENT CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK, GOV. MIKE DEWINE HAS LIFTED RESTRICTIONS FOR MENTAL HEALTH TELEHEALTH SERVICES. THE REQUIRED INITIAL VIDEO SESSION NO LONGER APPLIES TO OHIO CLIENTS AT THIS TIME. FEEL FREE TO ENGAGE IN COMMUNICATING HOWEVER YOU FEEL MOST COMFORTABLE (VIDEO, PHONE OR TEXT).
Hi there! My name is Pam Lemaster, and I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio. Chances are you’re reading this because you are looking for someone who might be able to help you in your marriage or intimate relationship. If so, I may be of service to you. I have several years of experience helping a variety of people improve their communication and interpersonal relationship skills. My roots as a counselor were laid over 25 years ago in high school when I became a peer mediator, helping students resolve their conflicts by finding a win/win solution. My passion for helping others followed into training other students in becoming mediators and then also training the trainers to continue the helping legacy. After high school, I continued improving my skills by learning domestic/divorce mediation and assisting couples through the divorce process without the pain of using attorneys to fight through custody and asset battles.
Fast forward to the present, and I am now a mental health counselor at a community mental health center in a small city in North Central Ohio. I also work as a Crisis Health Officer at the local hospital and jail, assessing risk of harm to self or others. Additionally, I facilitate a grief support group that meets once a month for people who are grieving the death of a loved one through suicide. It is evident that helping others is a common theme in my life.
When I was searching for a counselor to help me through my own relationship issues, I really did not know what to look for. Back then, it seemed I had very few options and pretty much had to take what I could get. I was lucky enough to find someone who matched my beliefs and helped me see areas of improvement for me to make healthy decisions to move forward. I am forever grateful for that person and will always carry a piece of them with me as their words of wisdom helped me through some pretty dark times. My counselor eventually assisted me through a divorce and then later through pre-marital counseling for my second marriage of 17 years! I am excited to be part of a new growing opportunity to allow people to have more access to mental health professionals than I had in the past.
I have a client-centered approach and utilize evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, family systems, narrative therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapy. I hope this intro finds you feeling hopeful that there can be light in the midst of darkness. I would be honored to walk with you on this journey to find hope and help you with your decision-making process in regard to your relationships. I may be just the lantern holder that you and your partner need to get through the darkness.

My view of counseling has always been distorted but I thought I’d give it another shot. I’m so happy to have been connected with Pamela, she just gets “it”. Not many people do in general. She is full of encouragement and always ready to develop a solution and make changes where it’s needed. I highly recommend anyone who just needs to talk or is going to major life hurdles to connect with Pam. I’ve never been more heard in my life and I’m just so grateful to have a therapist who puts time and effort into my needs.
