Michelle Pellin

About Me

Hello! My name is Michelle Pellin, and I am licensed as a professional counselor in the state of CT. I currently hold two masters: one in behavioral medicine and health psychology, and the other in human services and counseling. I have been a licensed therapeutic foster parent since 1999, working mainly with mentally and emotionally disabled teens. I also work as a case manager fighting for the rights of my acquired brain injury, physically challenged, and elder clients. I am also married, and have been for 27 years, and have 4 children.

I have worked with all kinds of individuals, and welcome anyone who needs support, including couples of all shapes and sizes. My approach is mainly psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral in nature. I am a true believer that your past experiences have brought you to your present situations. In a relationship, you both bring your baggage, even situations that occurred before you met, which can cause present day issues. Finding the core of the issues within your relationship may be uncomfortable and challenging. However, the goal is to find a more peaceful place in your lives. If you both are dedicated to the process, then the relationship will improve.

My philosophy is simple. Believe in yourself. Believe in the power you hold within your soul to change the world around you. Don't let others drag you down to their level. Surround yourself with supportive people. Work hard, but make fun one of your top priorities. Reach out and give of yourself to others in need. You are stronger than you tell yourself you are. You can be that person you want to be with the power of positive thoughts and actions. By working on yourself during this process, your relationship will gain strength and endurance in the long run.

During our time together, I will treat you and your partner with the dignity and respect you both deserve, and not pass judgment. I will listen to all of your concerns, and provide you at times with gentle guidance. However, you both are the captain of your own ships, so I will never demand you do anything you both don't feel comfortable with.

It took courage to seek help! I look forward to working with you and your partner.

Michelle has been extremely helpful to me. She has taken time out of her day she. I have been really struggling to speak to me. I really appreciate her advice.

I really like the way that she approaches each person in regards to how they are feeling, and I really enjoyed the session so far. I think it has been very professional and productive for us.
