About me
A skill that serves all relationships well is learning to listen with the intent to understand the other person’s point of view. If an individual can suspend their need to be understood momentarily and focus on their partner, it can be healing for both people. These are essential elements in communication issues and conflict resolution. Often another area to be considered is how we show and receive love. Is our expression of love a source of enrichment or tension in the relationship?
Two of the many theories I work with are Family of Origin (FOO) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). FOO allows an exploration of patterns learned in childhood and their influences on relationships. The combination of these approaches help people understand how negative thoughts effect their decisions in regards to relationships and life.
Therapeutic goals are set by the couple in the first session which reflect the individuals’ values. People maybe united in your objectives or each person may set their own. Often, I give homework to be done in between sessions. Our time is short, and the work done outside of a session will allow us to move more quickly to reach targets.

Dr. Hubnik listens and gives great advice. She really helped my spouse and I learn how to communicate effectively with each other.
Very good and understanding
Great job on the part! Proved me wrong.
