Hello! My name is Melissa Fowler.
First, I would like to commend on looking into getting help, this is the first step towards overall wellness and it takes a lot of courage.
I would like to tell you a little bit about myself before we get started on our journey to wellness. I graduated from a state college in Ohio with both my BA and master’s degrees. I am licensed in mental health counseling for all ages and populations. The past seven years, I have been working at a community mental health agency and often work with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. I have been a counselor on Betterhelp for a little over a year now and I really enjoy helping people through this telehealth platform. I find that my clients find it pretty convenient and user friendly.
I believe counseling can be a beneficial way to a find healthy balance in your life. Sometimes people need an unbiased party to talk to during difficult times or times of life transitions. I also believe counseling is your time to talk about whatever is on your mind, free from judgement. In therapy, I usually start with what you believe is the most important area you think should be worked on and what goals you would like to accomplish, in and out of counseling.
In regards to couple's counseling, I have worked with couples on and off throughout my years in the community mental health setting and some issues we addressed have included, infidelity, substance use in the relationship, and communication problems . Couples is an area I really enjoy working with and hope to be beneficial to you and your significant other. My approach includes improving communication skills, looking at the past and current patterns of behavior, and finding ways to simply be happy in the relationship. I believe in working with couples from a team approach where each person has their say in the matter and deserves to be heard and validated. I really apricate the advice and the conversations we share during our video sessions. I like that Melissa focus on the marriage itself and shows us what our problems are individually and how to resolve these issues as a partnership. I like that she is very forward and points out the good things we do that the things we need to work on. I always look forward for the sessions with my wife and Melissa. I also see a lot of progress since we first started, and were we are right now. I know it will take time and work, but with Melissa to guide us and show us how to work together as a team, I feel very confident in my marriage with my wife and I know we will live happily ever after, while spending everyday learning about each other. Thank you Melissa I really do apricate you working with us. definitely do recommend Melissa Fowler to those who want a loving relationship with their partner.

Melissa is wonderful to work with. I can't put into words how much she has helped us, but I cringe at the thought of where we were before we started couples therapy. Melissa is excellent at thinking of methods and tools to help us communicate in difficult situations. Probably the best compliment I can give her is that I feel comfortable talking with her (and that is a monumental feat).
Melissa does a really good job of being a strong yet neutral voice in our sessions. I think that both of us feel that she really cares and that she treats both of us fairly even when things get difficult. I would highly recommend her for other couples looking for a high-quality counselor.
