About me

I’m a mental health counselor licensed in Florida since 1993. I worked as a counselor with adults, teens, families, and groups in private practice , and as a counselor for medical, dental, pharmacy, and nursing students for 7 years at the University of Tennessee.

My counseling style is multifaceted. The choice of model or models is dictated by my client and his or her issues, individual history and personality. The approaches that guide my counseling include cognitive behavioral, family systems, rational emotive, EMDR and Mindfulness.

It can be devastating to feel that your spouse or partner feel like a stranger, closeness turned to cold indifference or raging anger. Who do you talk to? Who can be objective enough to see both sides?

In my experience, marriages struggle with a myriad of obstacles that can leave you feeling confused, lost and stuck, but with the right guidance can be overcome. Here are some of the more common stumbling blocks: career upheaval, financial conflicts, parenting, stepfamily struggles, cultural, racial, religious and especially today political differences. It could be sticky in law problems, alcohol or drug addiction, infidelity, different sexual desires and needs, or, maybe you’re not sure why you’re growing apart.

Working with a counselor requires commitment, ideally with both partners. Sometimes one partner is not ready to commit, and the partner who is ready may begin alone encouraging the other to join them when they demonstrate changes in improved behavior and communication.

Counseling offers an opportunity to understand your partner more fully and to also learn what drives your own thoughts and feelings. This process becomes easier as you learn effective communication skills.

If you’re ready to get unstuck and move forward to a better more satisfying relationship, I’m ready to assist you your journey.

Marcia is very nice. I wish I have someone like her I can talk to and give me some guide when I was young.

I really enjoy my time with Dr. Seeberg. She gets me to see things in a different way than I would normally and that opens my mind up to doing things differently to strengthen my marriage.
