Thank you for reviewing my information. I have tried to be quite detailed here, so please read to the end before selecting me as your therapist. After working a while in this online medium, I have found it quite important that you (the client), have a very good idea whom you will be working with.
I have many years of experience providing therapy to clients in both the hospital and the outpatient setting. I am an LCSW, licensed in the state of Texas. Bachelors degree obtained in Manchester, England and Masters Degree obtained from the University of Southern California. The general theme of my therapeutic style honours each individual with an overriding belief in the right to self determination, and supporting clients as they learn to help themselves and build a tool kit for long term success. I am definitely a solution focused therapist.
I respond to chat messages 1-2 times per day, and I welcome global clients. I have worked with individuals and couples from all over the world both in person and through the online modality.
*****Please note that my sessions are 30 minutes, once per week, with chat interaction expected in the interim.***** . Sometimes I might suggest longer sessions based upon the presenting problem, but 30 minutes is my usual method of practice.
Ultimately at the core of my work I seek to reach the human heart and respect the values of the individual. Each client is different, and each client experiences the world differently. I practice with unconditional positive regard, empathy and utilise evidence based interventions.
I am Beck Institute trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I combine this with mindfulness activities, Narrative Therapy, DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. During therapy with me you can expect to set goals, determine the thoughts associated with those goals (both positive and negative), the emotions, distress tolerance, behavioural experiments, exposures and more. I do believe that the development of mindfulness and acknowledgement of the current moment is important to long term stability in mental health. My therapeutic techniques do utilise quite a lot of worksheets.
An additional area of expertise for me is addiction treatment. I have worked in several rehabilitation facilities as a counselor, and also as a social worker for a transplant center. If addiction is your primary presenting problem, please get in touch so we can talk about whether or not this treatment modality can meet your needs.
I do have a good availability of live sessions, including daytime central time on Sundays. I am based in Texas (central time).
After we have met a couple of times via video, we can utilise the phone or live chat function if it works better for your schedule. I find that some clients are out and about and video just really isn't convenient and a call is just as effective.
I require cancellations at least 24 hours in advance. Please understand that I am reserving this time for you exactly as I do within the traditional office setting. i do understand that emergencies come up, but if you have more than one late cancellation I will request that you look for another therapist who can be more flexible with timing.
I welcome feedback throughout the therapeutic relationship. If at any time I am not meeting your needs please let me know and we will work together to resolve the challenges.
(Last but not least. I do not work with clients who have eating disorders, as I do not have sufficient experience. There are many amazing therapists on this platform who can work with you if this is your presenting problem.)

Ever since we started counselling with Lis we’ve noticed a massive positive difference within our relationship to the point we actually feel there’s something here that we can save. My wife and I are going through marriage counseling and we are realizing things about ourselves that we would like to change in order to improve our relationship effectively and in a healthy manner. She actively listens and gives honest feedback along with strategies to cope with what we are going through while healing and growing.
