About Me

We all want a loving, secure, and intimate relationship, but achieving this can be difficult at times. Relationships are work, and, at times, our relationships need repair. You may feel like the excitement is gone or you don’t know how to communicate with anymore.
I work closely with adults in relationships to recognize what is no longer working for them and develop new skills that do. My passion is working with adults, in all types of relationships, and I specialize in anger, anxiety, communication, infidelity, parenting, and trust related issues as well as sex and intimacy.

I have been in the counseling profession for over thirteen years and my educational background includes doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology, a master's in school counseling (2007), a bachelor's in psychology (2004), and post graduate training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) (2009) and Psycho-Educational assessment (2018). Additionally, I have professional training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) (2019), and I am currently in the process of completing the requirements to be a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) and a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology.

I have worked with couples both online and in person, and I have day and evening appointments available. My approach is Solution-Focused; so, we will begin with an end goal in mind. My sessions are structured, but relaxed, and I start by getting to know each of you; so, counseling will always feel comfortable and safe. Throughout this process, I will invite you both to communicate with me openly and honestly as well as provide several opportunities for you both to practice new skills in session and in daily life. Using the skills learned in counseling, we will work together to achieve your goals and bring happiness back to your home.

I love Lisa's directness and candor. I do not feel intimidated at all and I can respect her viewpoints. I appreciate her willingness to "hang in there" with us.

My husband and I separated and are still trying to figure out our future. We had been to numerous marriage counselors over the years, and I can honestly say that within 2 sessions, we made more progress with Lisa than we ever had. She was able to understand our situation and help each of us communicate and finally hear what the other person was saying. Her directness is a huge relief, and her knowledge and insight is spot on. She’s not afraid to tell either of us what we did wrong in the situation but also provide context for why we reacted the way we did and feedback on how to better handle the situation should it arise again. I actually for the first time in a long time feel hopeful that we can not only work through the past but come out at the other end with a stronger marriage than we ever had to begin with.
I am so thankful for Lisa!
