About Me

Hello!

My name is Lisa Godasi and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with almost 20 years of experience. I specialize in marital therapy, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse recovery, family systems, and trauma work. I received my BA in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and my MS in Counseling from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I have spent the last twenty years serving adults, couples, children, and teens in a variety of settings, including Home-Based Family Preservation Services in Nevada, community mental health family services in Colorado, and outpatient private practice in Texas. My wealth and variety of experiences has enabled me to become a skilled clinician who is easy to relate to and build rapport with and one who is open and willing to take on any challenging situation.

I have a thirst for knowledge and enjoy continued training and learning in clinical areas of interest on a regular basis. I am always wanting to learn about new and exciting discoveries in the therapeutic world and how to apply them in clinical practice. I am skilled with the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, SMART Recovery, and the Gottman Method for rebuilding and strengthening relationships. I am solutions focused and interested in helping clients identify and learn coping and self-care skills that truly work! Once the skills are in place, I am able to help you to explore deeper issues that may continue to create barriers to a truly exceptional life. I look forward to working with you!
