I have been as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2004. I have worked with client’s experiencing depression, anxiety, relationships issues, parenting and a wide range of other challenges including grief/loss, trauma, sexual/physical abuse, clients who experience suicidal ideation, domestic violence both offending and non-offending clients.
I use a person-centered approach within the therapeutic relationship. This means I make every effort to meet client’s where they are, help them advocate for themselves acknowledging they are the experts on themselves and can make the positive changes in their lives to reach their full potential. I also use modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectal behavioral therapy and solution focused approach. When helping couples improve their communication skills I come from process vrs content perspective. Content is what couples talk about and process is about how they talk about the issues of concern. If a couple learn how to talk about problems healthy communication is not far behind.
I stay current in the field by attending conferences, reading articles from professional resources and reading related blogs.
Client’s have told me I make them feel safe by my calm and warm demeanor. If you are looking for someone to talk to and are ready to make the positive changes you want in your life, I look forward to working with you.
