About Me

Let me start by saying couples counseling is not a death sentence in your relationship. It is not a sign that that your relationship is doomed. I promise you this. But get ready for the work, because couples counseling is getting down in the dirt and rebuilding that strong foundation of your relationship.

My name is Lisa Arce and I am a licensed therapist located in San Antonio, Texas. I have my Bachelors of Art in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I love working with couples. It is without a doubt a passion and strength of mine. I’ve been married for a little over ten years and my relationship has been a place of turmoil, love, friendship and growth. I’ve been in the same seat that other couples find themselves sitting in….talking to a therapist about our turbulent whirlwind. But guess what, through hard work, determination, a brilliant therapist and raw, honest love…we found ourselves stronger than ever. We found ourselves hopeful and passionate to rediscover who we were again. As a couple and as individuals.

Trust me when I say this: Marriage is what you make of it. It can be what we want it to be, with a nice mix of realism splashed in. If you find yourselves needing help, trying to figure things out….give me a call. Come talk to me. I am more than ready to help you along your journey to being the couple you want to be. You have it within you right now to put in the work, seek help and to dig in. Dig into the uncomfortable. Because that is where true growth lies.

Would highly recommend Lisa. I feel empowered to be myself in sessions and work on the subjects we need to. She's the best.

Lisa is insightful. She asks questions and fosters discussion. I have done talk therapy with a number of different people and have never been a fan of it (you just sit there and fill the space with your own thoughts). Something about the structure and the interactive component of Lisa's style is really helpful. Her feedback is also on point.

Lisa is great. Caring and responds quickly. Professional without lacking heart.

I couldn't ask for better support. She's is always willing to go above and beyond to listen and respond to me. She actively listens to me and allows me to help myself. I couldn't ask for anyone better.
