About me
Hello. My name is LeNora Black and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Virginia. I have over 25 years of experience consistently developing as a therapist. Born with a natural curiosity about people, their thoughts, journey, story; I would say, counseling claimed me. Listening is what I like best because hearing is how I can provide the help you are seeking. My journey started with helping individuals and families reach career choice goals and professional development while serving as a recruiting and retention specialist in the U.S. Army. I further developed professionally, earning an M.A. in Guidance and Counseling, and a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have partnered with clients addressing a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, anger management and substance abuse. I am Certified as a Prevention Specialist (CPS) in the State of Virginia, Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and fully trained in Play Therapy and EMDR. I’ve helped many people who have experienced physical, sexual trauma and emotional abuse.
My therapy style is warm, open, and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I am committed to safety, unconditional positive regard, and confidentiality in our therapeutic relationship. My approach to therapy is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) integrated with the holistic framework of the Polyvagal Theory. I encourage clients to learn about the different approaches and will provide information and resources, accordingly. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. Let’s get started.
I look forward to working with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for LeNora Black. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
We're still very new to the process, but I'm very thankful for Ms. Black. She has been helpful thus far, and I'm always encouraged by her positive and open demeanor.
She listens attentively and offers critiques on how we think about certain situations we are facing. And tries to give another perspective on how to view our conflicts
Fantastic therapist, Ms. Black has helped my partner and I work through what seemed like an impossible hurdle.
She’s great Highly recommended
Excellent therapist. Wife and I have learned a lot and are so happy we met her. Would recommend her to other couples going through problems in their marriage.
LeNora is very helpful. She is a great listener, has a very positive attitude, responds quickly to messages and provides activities outside of the session that are very thought provoking and useful. I look forward to continuing our work together.
She is excellent! She listens and provides sound advice and feedback.
