Welcome! Thank you for stopping by and reading my page. My name is Leah and I'm a Licensed Independent Social Worker - Clinical Practice in the State of South Carolina and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Illinois. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies and graduated from The University of Chicago with a A.M. in Social Work. I have over 10 years of clinical, administrative and supervisory experience, working with adults, adolescents, children and their families in clinical settings, as well as out in the community, in homes, schools and hospitals. I have extensive experience utilizing crisis management, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and conflict management. I have worked with clients in addressing concerns around interpersonal relationships, mood/anxiety disorders, ADHD, parenting techniques, trauma, addiction, self-harm and suicidal ideation.
My therapeutic philosophy: I believe in working together to build a safe and reliable therapeutic relationship and space to address your concerns. I believe you are the expert in yourself and I'm here to work alongside you to ensure that you reach your highest potential. Together, we will work to identify your primary concerns while simultaneously assessing your goals, achievements and built-in coping and problem-solving skills.
A little about myself: I was born in Paraguay and moved to the United States when I was 12 years old. I lived in the Chicagoland area for 20 years before moving to South Carolina for warmer weather and to be closer to family. I love being near the beach and being able to spend time outdoors year round, with my children. I work full-time at a local hospital and have two girls under the age of 4 that keep me busy! I enjoy staying active with my husband; we have been doing CrossFit together for almost 10 years.
Once again, I want to thank you for stopping by and want to acknowledge that you're here today. Know that sometimes, finding the right therapist takes time, patience and perseverance. I know that you will find your perfect match. If you'd like to reach out to me, I'm just a click away!
I look forward to working with you.

Leah is very understanding and versatile. I feel she is great at what she does using different techniques that fits the personality of whom she is counseling with and matches them with the situations that's she and others are facing. A very good and effective listener as well as advice giver. I would recommend her to anyone I know that's going through pretty much anything in life and looking for a breakthrough. Toal honesty, openess and willingness to relate and understand what you're going through.
Leah does a wonderful job of listening to the whole problem and focuses on understanding the problem before goes into detail about fixing it.
She’s also very understanding when I start rambling and not making to much sense.
Leah has been excellent. Clearly listens to our concerns and keeps track. She is also organized and insightful.
