About me

Hello! My name is Laura. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Indiana and I have 15 years of experience working in mental health. In former roles, I have held positions as a school social worker, as a therapist and I have managed a team of therapists at a Community Mental Health Center. I have worked in two of the largest hospital networks in Indianapolis, in schools, correctional facilities, and in private practice. I graduated from Indiana University Bloomington where I earned my BA, and later earned my Master of Social Work Degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. My clinical expertise lies in supporting individuals and families struggling with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, parenting, relationships and anger. I firmly believe that there IS hope for everyone, and that change IS possible. My theoretical framework is comprised of evidence based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I believe mental health IS healthcare – mindfulness, nutrition and exercise are all linked to our mental health – and I encourage clients to develop a strong self-care plan which encompasses whole health.
The foundation of a successful therapeutic experience lies in a strong rapport with your clinician, in addition to being motivated and ready for change. A therapist is one of many tools in a client's toolkit to assist and support change. In session, we will explore barriers you are currently experiencing, and will discuss opportunities for growth. Clients who are most successful utilize what is discussed in session out of session on a regular basis and come to session ready to discuss their progress. I am a solution focused therapist who adapts interventions to best fit my clients’ needs. I am available 7 days a week and have morning and evening appointments available, in addition to messaging throughout the day.
Kudos to you for taking the first step in improving your well-being. Give yourself credit for this achievement. An investment in one’s self is one of the most valuable gifts you can give to yourself and your loved ones. Best to you in your journey of improving your well-being and health!
