Communication can be a bridge - or a barrier - to connection. This is especially true when it comes to partnership. You both want to feel seen, understood, and appreciated. Dealing with change and shift in a relationship can be painful, frustrating, and confusing. Observing the relationship while in the midst of it is tough. It can be helpful to receive outside support from a compassionate helper who can see both sides, while supporting your understandings of each other.
I'm here to help. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with a passion for couples counseling. My client-centered approach pulls from attachment theory, emotionally focused therapy, mindfulness, body-centered awareness, non-violent communication, and evidence-based research, shaping how I weave solutions for you. I tend to see relationship challenges as being nested within a dynamic system. When we affect one part of a system, the whole picture rearranges. This means there is tremendous potential for shift individually and as a couple.
It takes time, trust, and increased capacity for discomfort to go into edgy places and pull things apart to gain a better understanding of what's there, and what growth wants to sprout. It is my passion and my honor to dive in and be of support as you courageously explore your strengths, your wishes, and the lives you want to create.

Laura is an amazing counselor. My partner and I are in couples therapy with her and she really listens and respects both our needs and wants as complicated individuals. She really helped elevate our communication and negotiation skills. I highly recommended her, especially for couples or individuals with untraditional relationship approaches.
