About me
My name is Kailee Smith and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I have been practicing for the past 4 years. I have worked with individuals, couples, children, and families. I have also facilitated domestic violence, anger management, and parenting groups. I have had the privilege of working with individuals that are dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, relational issues, parenting issues, co-parenting, behavioral issues, career challenges, past abuse, and the challenges that come along with adjusting to something new.
I earned my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Development, and I have a Masters degree with a double emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling.
My counseling style is warm, empathic, respectful, client-centered, safe, and free of judgment. I believe that creating a safe environment for my clients and developing a caring therapeutic relationship is critical to a successful therapeutic experience. It is my belief that a therapeutic relationship should be a collaborative one where you and I work together to discover strategies and solutions that best help you and that will meet your specific needs.
I practice from a variety of therapeutic orientations. First and foremost, I practice from a Client Centered (Rogerian) modality. This is the core of who I am as a therapist. This means that there is respect, encouragement, warmth, active/reflective listening, validation, normalization, meeting the client where they are at, and no judgment. I also utilize Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, and Mindfulness. I am a firm believer that every individual is unique and special, and practicing from only one therapeutic orientation will not work for everyone. As a therapist, I strive to tailor each session to each client’s individual and specific needs.
Relationships and marriage are a wonderful union, but they also require constant work in order to continue to grow together as a couple. Every couple goes through ups and downs and challenging seasons. As a therapist, I am able to objectively help look at what is presenting itself in the relationship and help you, as a couple, determine the best solution based on what your specific relational needs are.
It takes a lot of strength and courage to reach out and seek assistance during challenging times. I appreciate and respect the courage it takes to make the decision to take this first step. It is my hope you also recognize the strength you have within. I look forward to working with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kailee Smith. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
Kailee has been such a light in our paths we practice couples counseling with her and are still currently working with her and I felt we have her an overload of information but she handled that information with attention and care, she’s provided us with many useful tips and insights and tools to utilize in our daily lives and has also been able to be the mediator and clarifying factor we needed.
Kailee has been absolutely wonderful to work with. I highly recommend her!
