About Me

I would first like to take a moment to honor your courage in taking the first steps in getting help to actively take control of your life to face your current challenges. The decision you have made shows distinctive bravery, and I commend you for it. These ideas are the basis for my therapeutic environment, along with unconditional respect, compassion, empathy, while cultivating your individual strengths. I maintain that you are the expert in your life, and we will work collaboratively to focus on the issues that you find most pressing. The ultimate goal of the therapeutic process is to help you build a framework that enables you to be solve current challenges and future challenges.

My therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. The main thrust of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is to intervene on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is similar and also emphasizes mindfulness, staying present in the moment. Motivational Interviewing identifies internal motivations and focuses them to change specific behaviors. These approaches are combined with psychoeducation and skill building and will be individually tailored to your specific situation to empower you to solve your problems.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been in practice for five years. I have worked with people, including veterans, suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and associated conditions in a variety of settings including providing telehealth services. I feel confident that we can develop a working relationship that will facilitate personal growth and empowerment. Thank you for considering me to accompany you through this tumultuous time in your life.
