About me
I have nine years of experience counseling clients with a variety of struggles, personalities, and life experiences as well as counseling in group settings. Each counseling experience brings challenges and victories and I consider it an honor and privilege to come alongside individuals or couples in need. I personally see my role as counselor as an opportunity to serve. With this in mind my goal is to listen, to understand and to dive in with my client and fight alongside in their journey toward healing. I have a passion to help others in whatever situation and have spent a lot of time with individuals struggling with depression and anxiety as well as other mental health and life issues. My familiarity has given me confidence and success when coming alongside my clients in these areas. There is also a special place in my heart for those going through marriage problems or relationship issues. I have focused on marriage counseling in the last few years and it has become a major strength area in my counseling. I typically use counseling techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and reality therapy. I also have a passion for Christian counseling techniques and principles and enjoy counseling individuals and couples seeking biblical guidance. I have lived in Ohio most of my life and have five sons with my wife of fifteen years. I am a follower of Christ and self-proclaimed geek. I also very much enjoy the outdoors, sports, music, reading, and just spending time with friends and family. I have a passion for helping others and being involved in my community. 2008- Graduated from Cedarville University with B.A. Psychology Bible Minor. 2013- L.P.C. Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for James Bunch. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
He is solid and prepared. He is flexible and helpful.
James Bunch is a great therapist who not only listens, but offers advice in easy terms with logical advice or things to do to help facilitate change.
Great
I don’t usually write reviews, but honestly connecting with James as my counselor has been non the less life changing even in the last couple weeks I’ve been his patient. I downloaded regain because i was a desperate busy mom who really wanted to be a better person and mom. James has provided tools and support to help me work through some of my biggest internal battles. I wasn’t that confident in the process since all the times I’ve tried I’ve failed, but this time is different. I couldn’t be more grateful for James and his experience and help!
I’m very impressed by James. He’s a perfect combination of humor and expertise. He listens without judgment and is offering realistic strategies to improve. He’s not promising any specific outcomes but is just allowing us to evolve. I would strongly recommend him!
We are so glad we were matched with James. We’ve only been meeting with him for a couple of weeks, but are already seeing huge improvements in our relationship! James is caring and passionate about what he does. We feel comfortable talking to him and we are confident that he cares about us and genuinely wants the best for us. Thanks so much, James!!
James is great!
James has really been helpful in providing my spouse and me with a safe environment to talk about our marital concerns. He has provided helpful strategies that we can use to improve communication in our marriage and to resolve conflict in a healthy way.
We have just started our counseling service with James and already have more tools and insight into our relationship than we ever have. We both are feeling much more optimistic and like we have someone who really wants to help.
James is an amazing and honest therapist. He is patient and gives practical advice with books and references to help along the way. My husband and I feel he has truly helped our marriage and our growth as individuals. You will not be disappointed. We feel blessed to have found him.
It’s helpful when he touched base. I’m glad he fostered improved communication.
James is great. He's very laid back and down to earth. He speaks calmly and softly but remains very realistic about things. He takes on a biblical approach but not in a way that is overwhelming to me - I am religious but not on a huge scale and I tend to get irritated if I am "preached" to. James does a really great job of maintaining a happy medium. He answers messages quickly and always seems to have good advice, instruction or literature references to help fill in the gaps between sessions. I'm very pleased to have ended up with him as a counselor, as is my significant other.
James is awesome, straight to the point. He is blunt and I love it!
I have been in and out of counseling for years, and I have never felt as comfortable as I do with James. He is so ready to listen and offer advice on living a medication free life with anxiety. I really cannot say enough good things. His homework assignments are exciting to do and easy for me to fit in.
Great guy to work with...listens to both me and my wife's issues with understanding.
Very nice man, helpful, intelligently, understanding and very caring.
James was very helpful during our time working with him. He got right to the heart of our issue (couples counseling) and gave us homework assignments to start working toward a fix for those issues. Thanks James!
I have learned a lot about relationships with him. He's helpful and always show us ways to handle the situations.
James is so amazing to talk to. No judgement...no awkwardness...just genuine help and guidance to get our marriage back on track. He gave us the tools and the perspective we needed to really understand each other & taught us how to cherish each other. I cannot say enough great things about James! We will forever be grateful for all his help.
I appreciate James's individual attention that he gives my husband and I. He seems well educated and experienced in many aspects of counseling.
James listened and offered quality guidance and homework for my wife and I to work on. He is also going above and beyond with helping my wife with her anxiety. She's been going to the school counseling sessions and they have done nothing but waste her time and the person she spoke to didn't really want to help. There is a big difference speaking with James compared to what we have tried before. We are glad that we picked James.
