I am a Licensed Specialized Clinical Social Worker in Kansas with over 10 years of experience providing therapy to individual adults, couples and families. I've worked with clients who are experiencing a broad range of life challenges such as anxiety and stress, depression and mood problems, relationship issues and difficulties adjusting to significant life events.
My approach would be described as compasssionate, understanding and encouraging. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, motivational and narrative strategies to help clients gain understanding and heal so they can live their best life. I will spend time getting to know you - your individual experiences, strengths and needs - in order to work with you to develop interventions that will most effectively meet your unique circumstances.
In my work with couples, I strive to create a safe environment where clients can feel comfortable openingly sharing their concerns. We will work on gaining understanding, increasing communication and problem-solving skills and helping you clarify your goals and needs.
It takes a great deal of courage and strength to reach out for help, and I commend you for taking this step.
I look forward to working with you!

Gerald is very caring & understands your needs & he has a positive outlook on your issues. Gerald also tells you how it is, without being to blunt or hurtful. He's a great marriage counselor.
Very personable and easy to talk to
When I first started counseling I was a little skeptical of it. I felt at time I didnt need it. I felt that I didnt need to open up. After my initial session with Mr. Snell I found that I need to reevaluate my thinking process. Throughout our session I learned how to listen to my wife and he offered tools that we could use to create a better bond and to communicate in a way that we haven't in years. I appreciate his insight and the fact that hes a neutral party. He invites us to share and to be completely transparent with each other.
We are new to therapy my wife and i and she doesnt like giving her honesty to strangers...but this therapist we have been talking to is really helping. I feel closer to my wife the more we talk about our issues. It was awkward at first but even my wife agrees this was a good call. Its worth the investment.
