About me
Regardless of the length of a relationship and how it gets defined, communicating and cooperating with another person takes patience and sometimes new tactics. I believe that everyone in a relationship deserves to be happy and to be treated with respect. This requires an understanding and acceptance of each person’s expectations, assumptions, and preferences and exploring how two potentially different viewpoints can exist together. This often involves acceptance, compromise, planning, and communication.
I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Therapy techniques to help explore influences and experiences that shape individual preferences, perspectives, and demands of others and work to challenge these to become more flexible when needed. I help build mood and stress management skills to help face issues like parenting, financial difficulties, and extended family problems, as well as to help with respectful communication, planning, and problem solving.
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist currently living and working in Chicago. I graduated from the Family Institute at Northwestern., and throughout my 17 years as a counselor I have addressed many struggles couples face including lack of intimacy, poor communication, parenting, and dealing with infidelity or broken trust.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Gabriel "Gabe" Seldess. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
Gabe made me feel heard, from day one in messages I felt like he read what I wrote and was able to articulate my thoughts and ask questions that helped me process my thoughts better if they weren’t clear in the beginning. During the first video session he listens to understand as well! He really gets to know his clients.
I really loved working w Gabe. He’s a very good listener. Very empathetic and understanding. He really makes you feel comfortable and extremely non-judgmental and supportive. I highly recommend Gabe.

Gabriel is fantastic at listening and sharing methods to regain confidence in relationships. I recommend him to any couple that wishes to progress as a partnership and find that even playing field as a team.
