Hello! If you are exploring Better Help, it is likely that you are struggling with something significant in your life. Finding the right person to help you through these challenges is very important. If you don't have a good relationship with your counselor, you won't make the progress you are hoping to achieve. I want to provide you with some information about me in order to help you decide if my experience and style is the right match for you.
I have been a social worker for more than 25 years and have experience working with people from all different backgrounds who are struggling with a wide variety of challenges. Much of my experience has been working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, , substance abuse, and the challenges of parenting. The feedback I receive from clients is that they find me to be caring and nonjudgmental, and they appreciate that I am honest and direct with them. You can expect me to walk with you through whatever difficulties you are facing and help you learn more about yourself and the way you interact with the world.
I can interact with you in whatever manner you are most comfortable. I find it helpful to participate in video sessions so that we can get to know each other better. But I am also available to you via phone and text if that is more comfortable for you. A majority of my availability is varied.
I know how hard it can be to find a counselor who you feel a connection with and I would be honored to work with you through this stage of your life.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Ethel Richard-Peterson. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with ReGain might be different.
Listens and is very solution based. Gives options and suggestions on how to move forward through problems
I have met Ethel for at least a month now, and I felt very comfortable with her since our first few sessions. She reminds me of a mentor I had a long time ago, which contributed to a feeling of familiarity.
Ethel makes this time your time and a safe space to talk about what is happening with you. She is there for you and makes good suggestions. I needed a little help with certain situations and the suggestions she had were good without overstepping too many boundaries... It helped me learn that I was doing all I could do, and helped me realize I need to let go of the guilt that I couldn't do more; that I'm not responsible for other's feelings, choices, or lives but my own. It's still something I need to work though, but helps to know.
She has never been judgmental, and supports whatever decision you decide to make. It really helps to have that neutral party be a sounding board and help you understand thoughts and feelings. It makes me comfortable with whatever decision I make because she is not pushing me towards one option and does not judge. I struggle with talking about certain things and she will make me laugh, which is sometimes what I need.
I thank Ethel for helping me understand myself better, and I also feel like I am better equipped with my decisions and being a better person.
We have only met once I'm not sure at tis time.
