About me
Hello! I am a marriage and family therapist licensed in Georgia with experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I have counseled a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to, depression, addiction, relationship issues, trauma, end of life, chronic illness, divorce, parenting problems, and sexual abuse.
Over the years, my clients have given consistent feedback that they appreciate my warm, accepting, and challenging personality. They also report that they value my ability to not only listen to their concerns, but also provide strategies and skills to overcome life's challenges. My approach is systemic, meaning that I believe no one person develops and matures in isolation. I value understanding a client's culture, family, past and present relationships, values, and beliefs. I combine several theoretical approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solutions focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and trauma focused therapy to develop a treatment plan to meet your unique needs.
I entered the field of counseling after experiencing the positive effects of therapy in my own personal life. I believe in what I do and I love helping other people. Taking action to find genuine happiness and problem solve takes courage. I celebrate with you for taking the first steps for a more fulfilling present and future. I am here to support and work with you.
I look forward to assisting you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Ellen Thomas. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
Ellen has a very unique approach to counseling that I really like. I like the way she utilizes different methods to gather as much information as possible to understand the best way to help!
Ellen has helped us out tremendously over the years with her expertise and continues to do so. Would definitely recommend her to anyone considering therapy.
Ellen has been great through our whole process. She has worked with our busy schedule and made my spouse and I very comfortable. I know we connected with the perfect therapist for our needs.
First impressions make the biggest impact. We're three sessions in and she is an absolute doll. Looking forward to our journey and thankful that Ellen is so easy going and empathic to our needs
As always, Ellen is professional and intuitive to our needs. We are so much better with her in our life.
Ellen is wonderful. She is caring, relatable, and a great listener. She is a great therapist and we highly recommend!
Ellen is awesome! Easily the best counselor I have ever had. She really listens and is extremely perceptive. She also goes the extra mile to get to know her clients and make them feel comfortable sharing with her. You can tell she is really passionate about what she does, because she is extremely engaged and always providing helpful resources. So far, working with Ellen has proven to be a worthwhile experience, and I feel that she is giving me the tools I need to continue reaching my goals even after therapy ends. I cannot recommend her enough!
