I know that life can bring challenges for couples. Even the best relationships are not easy. Once the honeymoon period has passed, it takes much more than chemistry and passion to make a relationship work. As you face challenges in your relationship, at times it may feel like just too much to sort through or overcome on your own. It brings great fulfillment to me to be a part of helping you to move beyond pain - beyond overwhelming stress - beyond not knowing -– beyond feeling confused. Walking WITH you both through the tunnel, all the way to the other side, I learned long ago, that helping people 'change' is what I was called to do. I am humbled to be able to help you.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS). I obtained a Bachelors' degree from Auburn University at Montgomery in 1995 and a Master's degree from Montana State University-Northern in 1999. Over the past 20+ years, my devotion has never wavered. Helping you to gain peace, direction, feeling whole, safe and secure, and gaining a life anew fuels my professional intentions.
As I work with couples, each person within the relationship is wonderfully unique and requires your own unique approach. Yet, as a couple, you are also two people who have come together as 'one.' Working from the frameworks of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Solution-Focused Therapy, I create a therapeutic approach that is right for YOU.
Clients over the years have described me as "you keep it real," warm, honest, trustworthy, genuine, transparent, humorous, a teacher, and able to quickly move them forward. I am a mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. I look forward to working alongside you as you change and grow. I believe that when two people are committed to working together, there is nothing you cant 'fix.'

Elana is really good counselor she understood us and made us realize what we lacked.
Elana has worked with me and my bf for a short while but has already helped us to identify and tackle the underlying issues that we didn’t realize were the source of our bigger issues and there has already been huge progress and I look forward to continually working with her.
