Denise Anderson

About Me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a National Board Certified Counselor, bringing 13 years of counseling experience working with couples. I have worked with couples experiencing concerns with communication, decision making, conflict, grief and loss, and change of life concerns.
My counseling style is client centered and cognitive behavioral therapy or CBT, this approach will provide techniques that will allow you to incorporate new ways of working together within your daily lives. The exercises will allow you as a couple to learn from each other and embrace healthy changes for positive growth. I believe strongly in meeting you where you are in your therapy experience as we collaborate together to meet your goals as a couple. As I work with you I hope to encourage and be apart of your successful outcomes as you meet your therapy goals. When I am not counseling, I serve as a contributing faculty with Walden University where I teach and present fundamental concepts, skills, and techniques for becoming a clinical mental health counselor to students earning their master of science degree.
It takes courage to ask for help, I look forward to experiencing this step with you.

"If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive." -Brene Brown

Denise is a wonderfully composed, kind and calm voice of reason. She knows when to give space for her patients to speak and knows when and how to help them stay on track with an assured and guiding hand. Above all she is a compassionate human being who makes you feel comfortable, safe and ready to embrace being vulnerable in order to grow.
