I am a licensed clinical social worker in Missouri with over 5 years experience working with couples experiencing difficulties due to life transitions, infidelity, communication and trust issues. I hold a master's degree in clinical social work from The University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Argosy University. Additionally, I completed the Gottman Institute 10 Principles of Effective Couples Therapy. I have extensive experience in trauma informed care, couples counseling and illness related relationship issues. I have also helped a number of couples where one or both individuals is a trauma and /or abuse survivor.
I possess an integrative, holistic approach to therapy. This means that as a therapist I combine my clinical knowledge of attachment theory, neuroscience, cognitive behavioral theory, and psycho dynamic theory with the wisdom and insights from mindfulness-based practices, creative expression and nature. I work to create a nurturing, compassionate, safe space that honors the couple's healing process and instigates growth and development.
I embody a compassionate presence and I am honored to accompany and empower others in their unique healing journeys' of growth and transformation. I provide support for discovering ways to connect with one's innate wisdom, creativity, resiliency, and wholeness - even joy amidst life's uncertainty.

As an update to my previous review, DeNean has been simply amazing and compassionate while discussing issues. I cannot recommend her enough!
DeNean is an incredible listener and clearly knows how to evaluate our situation and help us create a plan to move forward. We trust and appreciate her expertise, her focus on our relationship with the acknowledgment that it's a compact between two individuals, and she's ready and straightforward with thoughts, advice, and questions that help us understand ourselves and our relationships more fully.
