About Me

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience working with a variety of people in various ages and stages of life. have considerable experience working with couples struggling with a variety of marital problems such as communication, finance, intimacy/sex,parenting problems, infidelity, etc. Often, one or both people may have individual problems affecting the marriage, such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse issues, or self-esteem issues.

I believe one of the most important components in having a successful therapy experience is the ability to establish a rapport with my clients based on respect, honesty and openness. If you do not feel comfortable with me or see me as competent and capable, it will be much harder for you to be vulnerable, accept any assignments or challenges I may give you, or trust me to guide you through a sometimes painful or difficult process.

Therapy is a partnership. I am hear to help you with whatever concerns you have. If I see possibilities for other things that could be getting in the way of your goals I will bring them up, but ultimately it will be for you to decide if it is something you want to work through. If you want my opinion or advice, I will give it to you. I am not a therapist who will sit quietly and say "ummm hmmmm" or "how does that make you feel"... I may invite you to look at a situation from a different perspective, challenge you to approach a problem in a new way, or suggest follow up assignments for you to do after our sessions. I believe that success comes from learning how to do something different than what has been done before.

Research shows that the happiest people in life are those who are happily married, or in a happy committed relationship, while the unhappiest people in life are those in unhappy marriages/partnerships. If want help working through the challenges in your marriage or relationship, and are ready to look at yourself as well as your partner, I can help you.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Dayna is incredible & truly skilled. My husband has never done therapy & was totally hesitant about it. After our first session, he now has a positive outlook on couples therapy. She has already helped us immensely with our marriage & am so thankful to her.
