About me
Hello! My name is Dawn and I am a licensed professional counselor licensed in Louisiana with over 10 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. With a degree in Marriage and family counseling as well as school counseling I am currently pursuing my PhD in counselor Education. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD and ADHD. I also have considerable experience with Trauma, first responders’ issues and addictive disorders.
My counseling style is warm, interactive, and collaborative. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines Reality therapy and choice theory, cognitive-behavioral with a client centered humanistic approach. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Couple's are one of my favorite populations but they all have special individualized needs, and I am here to help you in whatever your relationship goals are to make a better more fulfilling life together. Navigating life with another person is hard work sometimes it takes having that outside perspective to help us really come together as one.
