My name is Darice Dodd and I am licensed therapist in the state of Missouri with almost 20 years of extensive education, training, and experience in the mental health and substance abuse/ addictions field. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a credential awarded by the National Board for Certified Counselors (Board-Certified) and a Certified Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) . I graduated from Georgia State University, with both a Master of Science Degree in Professional Counseling and Educational Specialist Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy simultaneously.
For over 10 years, I have worked with couples and families with a wide range of concerns including substance abuse and its' affect on familial relationships, divorce/separation, premarital concerns, relationship issues, grief and loss, mid life concerns, financial problems, anger mngt, infidelity, etc. I have also helped couples affected by trauma and abuse. Additionally, I have been married for 11 years and have 3 sons (11-year-old, and 7-year-old, and 4 year old ) so I can relate to many of the problems/ issues you may be experiencing, as well as how they may impact the marital relationship and parenting approaches.
My counseling style is eclectic, meaning I incorporate a variety of therapeutic modalities to create the ideal treatment to meet the client's needs. I strive to provide a safe, supportive, nonjudgemental, and empathic therapeutic environment. I believe that everyone is uniquely different and may not respond to a one size fits all therapeutic modality. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, person centered, family systemic, and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific goals and desires. I tend to work with clients from a strength-based, positive, and affirming perspective. My specialties include assessment/evaluation, substance abuse/addictions counseling, individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, play therapy, etc. I have experience working with adults, children/adolescents, couples and families within a multitude of different settings.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

I don’t write reviews normally but darice is one of the best counselors I’ve ever had.
Great listener. Always keeps us focused on our issue at hand and guides us through it all. Has helped my marriage in ways I can’t explain.
Darice has been excellent. My wife and I have met with other therapists in the past and have always felt a disconnect. Darice gets us. She speaks right to the heart of the problem and offers invaluable perspective. She also has a unique ability to point out our flaws without triggering our defenses, which makes it easier to take accountability. Darice always has a positive attitude and makes therapy enjoyable. Thank you, Darice!
She has been absolutely incredible. What a fortunate connection to be matched with her. She is very easy to communicate with, actively listens and sees what’s truly happening without being told the core issue. She has a process and it’s been very effective for us. Our sessions with her are something I look forward to because I know good things will come from it. Very grateful!
I really appreciate the time I get to spend with Darice. She does an excellent job of listening and helping me feel at ease. She guides the conversation in a very fluid, natural manner and knows when and how to ask the right questions. She is definitely knowledgeable in her field and maintains her practice with professionalism.
Darice is an awesome counselor. I am so glad that we found her because we went through a couple other counselors before her and she is the best! She genuinely cares about her clients and provides the time and help that you need. I would definitely recommend her for couples counseling. Thank you Darice!
