About me

Daniel G. Merchant received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama. Daniel went on to earn a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and a Master in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Daniel specializes in Individuals and Families. Daniel has counseled in a variety of setting for the past 17 years. These include emergency shelter, non-profit, private practice, schools, and outpatient facilities striving to help all family members involved to reach a new higher level of living. Daniel's counseling approach is based on Brief Solution-Focused Therapy integrating Narrative Therapy, Family Systems and Cognitive-Behavioral Theory to empower clients to take hold of the situation at hand and help them learn they have a voice. All counseling sessions are individualized to the client needs. Daniel has extensive experience working with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Bi-Polar, Borderline Personality Disorder and other diagnosis. There is no greater joy in counseling than to see an Adolescent regain that "sparkle" in their eye when they know they are and will continue to get better. My moto is "Lets' put it all on the table and see what we are working with!" Daniel has a passion for helps others reach their maximum potential regardless of religious, political and social views. Daniel is the proud father of two.
