About Me

Relationships are hard. They are also incredibly rewarding. But there are times when the part that's hard seems to always outweigh the part that's rewarding. I think the goal of working with couples (married or otherwise) is to guide them back to finding the parts that are rewarding again. As a compassionate listener, my goal is for the people I work with to find a solution that works for them, rather than a "medically approved treatment plan." I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Minnesota and am also a certified mediator.

There are several areas in which I have more extensive experience, including blended family struggles, veteran's concerns (including PTSD and trauma work), healthy sexuality, anxiety, and discovering one's life purpose. Complications like these can often eclipse the joy of relationship. I use a variety of approaches to help the people I work with manage the intensity, frequency, and/or duration of what is problematic in their life, so they can get back to their life. I believe that therapy is a collaborative discussion in which everyone involved has a role in accomplishing the goal of moving forward with life.

We have only had a few sessions with Chuck so far but I have to say I would recommend him highly. He gives us space to explore what's happening with us but then at just the right time comes in to help unpack what we are feeling and then gives us tools to use in our relationship and in life. Chuck is a really great counselor, so kind, empathetic, and knowledgeable.
