About me
My name is Cecelia Johnson. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of Alabama and Mississippi. I have 30 years of experience working with individual, Families and Couples have relationship issues. I work with Clients to improve communication with and understanding of others and their perspective. I have experience with both civilian and military relationships.
I worked with individuals to address issues of stress, emotional conflicts, blended families, separation, divorce and death. My approach is to be empathetic, goal focused and Client centered. I apply Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my work with Clients. I work to help Clients improve interactions, develop understanding of past issues affecting present situations, develop effective communication skills, understanding of their emotions related to others and their ability to change behaviors.
I attended Troy State University to attain my Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Social and Rehabilitation Services. I also have a minor in Criminal Justice. I attended the University of South Alabama and obtained my Master degree in Agency Counseling. I obtained my Marriage and Family License 20 years ago.
