I am Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and I have worked in mental health for the last 6 years. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling from St. Edwards University and I’m a few semesters away from finishing my PhD in Counselor Education from the University of North Texas. I live and work in Seattle with my partner and my dog while I’m finishing up school.
I approach counseling from a Relational-Cultural perspective which is a feminist, multicultural lens that focuses on developing a growth fostering relationship between the therapist and the client to help support the client making positive changes in their life. This growth fostering relationship can be used a model to improve all other relationships in the clients life. I find this method of counseling can be highly effective for intimate relationships counseling and couples counseling. In a practical sense, this means that I will be striving to create a positive connection with you and your partner while also encouraging you to assess your past relationships and how they may have impact you now.
