My name is Andrea Patterson and I am a licensed clinical social worker with 8 years experience working with various populations including people experiencing substance abuse, adults with special needs and most recently, working with people in psychiatric crisis in a medical setting. I do have a specialty in substance abuse and mood disorders and also have a vast amount of experience working with people who have co-occurring mental and physical health issues.
My approach to therapy is holistic, inclusive, client centered and positive. We will partner to figure out what your goals are and how we can best reach them; I will never be prescriptive or presume to know what is best for you. YOU are the expert on what works for you and I will be here to help you find the right tools, because coping skills are not the same for each person. I am very accepting and compassionate, so am open to working with anyone regardless of their background. I have worked with people from all walks of life and pride myself on being adaptable to different situations.
I think of therapy as a mutual learning experience; I will learn what I can from you to help you learn what coping skills or "tools" you need to get you where you want to be in life. If you are ready to find your tools, let's build a vision of what you want your life to look like and then work together to get you there!
- Stress, Anxiety
- Anger management
- Bipolar disorder
- Coping with life changes
I also have experience in Trauma and abuse, Grief, Sleeping disorders, Parenting issues, Self esteem, Career difficulties, Depression, Compassion fatigue, ADHD

Andrea is very personal and professional. My boyfriend and I have been seeing her for about a month and with her guidance we have made strides in our relationship. She gives us homework and videos that really helps us get the conversation started. I would recommend her to everyone!
We enjoy speaking to Andrea because she has a very personable approach to us. We never feel like she is judging or demeaning us, and that she can understand us because of her life experiences. She has demonstrated a good grasp of our issues and has provided useful material for us to understand some of the psychology that has led us to having certain perspectives. Overall we enjoy our conversations with her and look forward to hearing her insights.
Andrea was there for us... sometimes that's all is needed.
