Relationships can be hard and sometimes people need help. As a counselor, I approach couples with kindness, warmth, and genuineness knowing that both parties have a need to feel heard and validated.. Meeting you both where you are and "being real" is the core of my professional identity. I believe all individuals have within them what they need to produce effective change. I see my role as your counselor as helping you as a couple discover your complementary strengths and use those to guide you toward a healthier and happier relationship. I do this using techniques and approaches from dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing where focus is given to mindfulness, thought patterns, and patterns of behavior that have led to distress. However, all therapy is tailored to each couple understanding that each couple is different.
I have a Masters degree in clinical mental health counseling from Regent University and worked as a registerd nurse for 17 years prior to my graduate studies. Working with families has been a part of occupations for over 2 decades so understanding interpersonal dynamics between individuals has been necessary. This gives me a unique skill set in understanding the link between one's mental health and how it impacts our relationships.
Couples counseling can help you save your relationship, grow in deeper connection with one another, and share life in a more fulfilling way. I look forward to helping you!

I have really enjoyed our counseling with Andra. She is very honest and knows how to read people and situations. Andra is very down to earth and has a great sense of humor, which helps break times with tension. She has been a big help for me and my husband.
